Here are product examples of wearables designed for industrial use, showcasing how they enhance worker safety, productivity, and efficiency:

  1. RealWear HMT-1
A rugged, hands-free head-mounted device with voice recognition, used in industrial environments like manufacturing and fieldwork to access real-time information, video feeds, and instructions, without interrupting tasks.

  2. XOEye Smart Glasses
Augmented reality glasses that provide employees with real-time access to digital work instructions, maintenance guides, and remote support, improving operational efficiency and reducing errors.

  3. ProGlove Mark
A smart glove designed for warehouse workers, featuring an integrated barcode scanner that increases productivity and minimizes manual errors by scanning products during handling and sorting.

  4. Guardhat Smart Helmet
A helmet designed for construction or mining industries, equipped with sensors to monitor workers’ vital signs, detect environmental hazards, and offer instant communication tools, improving safety and response times.

  5. Zebra Technologies WT6000 Wearable Computer
A compact, wearable computer that allows workers in warehouses and logistics to access important data, scan inventory, and track shipments without needing a handheld device, optimizing operational workflow.

These industrial wearables help improve worker safety, enhance communication, and streamline workflows by integrating technology into everyday work processes.

Hello, I heard that wearable devices are increasingly used in industrial sites, and I’m curious what kind of devices are mainly used, and how they actually help the work environment.
Does anyone have any experience?

Hello, wearables used in industrial sites are very helpful in safety, productivity improvement, and efficient work management.
Smart glasses, smart watches, smart bands, and recently exoskeleton robots are also included in the wearable category.

  • Smart Glass: Increase efficiency by checking work instructions, checking drawings, video calls with remote professionals, etc. For example, on an assembly line, the operator can proceed with the smart glass by checking the assembly sequence or part information in real time.
  • Smartwatch/band: It contributes to safety management and work efficiency by monitoring the operator’s heart rate, amount of activity, location information, etc. For example, hot workplaces can monitor changes in the operator’s body temperature to prevent heat stroke or provide notification when approaching hazardous areas to prevent accidents.
  • Exoskeleton Robots: Help reduce the risk of injury and increase work efficiency by assisting the operator’s strength when lifting heavy objects or performing repetitive tasks.

Safety at industrial sites is a very important issue, and wearable devices are playing a big role in such safety management. For example, if you wear a wearable device with a gas leak detection sensor, you can receive immediate notification in case of a harmful gas leak, so you can evacuate quickly. In addition, it helps to quickly perform rescue activities in case of an emergency by identifying the operator’s location information in real time. With the fall detection function, you can also automatically send a notification to an administrator if the operator collapses. These functions can greatly improve the safety level in the workplace.

I think it would be good to refer to other topics as well.
