If a sensor were implanted in a human, would it be a ‘human sense’?

If humans implant sensors to feel magnetic fields or ultra-low-frequency vibrations, is that still “human perception” or a new sense entirely?

Humans already adapt to tools as extensions of the body. This is just the next step.
Glasses → smartphones → sensory implants.
The brain doesn’t care where the signal comes from.

So, How long would the brain take to actually understand a new sensory channel like magnetic field detection?

I’ve seen material on a magnetic belt prototype.
After two weeks, it stopped feeling “weird” and started feeling informative.
Like knowing north without thinking.
